To create an encoding ladder, add a fixed ladder encoder to your pipeline, configure each "rung" with the desired resolution and bitrate, and connect your source to the encoder. The encoder will generate multiple output streams with different quality levels for adaptive bitrate streaming.

You configure resolution, bitrate and bitrate mode, codec (H.264, HEVC, or MPEG-2), frame rate, and keyframe interval per rendition. Encoding runs in software or is offloaded to NVIDIA NVENC or NETINT Quadra hardware, so the same ladder can be tuned for quality or for throughput.
