How it works
Recording is an output on the workflow, running alongside delivery — so the file, the clip, and the replay all come from the stream as it happens.
The fileMp4 output writes a streaming MP4 continuously as the workflow runs, with finalised MP4 files available on demand — so you can take a complete, playable file out of a recording that hasn't stopped yet. Recording is a node alongside your CDN and social outputs, not a separate job that starts when the live one finishes.
actionReplay records audio and video and replays them on demand, so the thing that just happened can go back on air seconds later. Because the replay is a component in the workflow, the replayed feed goes through the same switching and compositing as everything else — into a two-box, under a graphic, or full-screen.
The tams output records into a Time Addressable Media Store — media stored against time rather than as opaque files, so any segment is addressable by timestamp and clips are cut by asking for a time range instead of re-encoding a whole asset. Norsk both writes to and reads from TAMS, so recording and clipping close the loop.
