Norsk Reasoning is the runtime bridge between your live workflows and the LLM of your choice — Claude, Gemini, GPT, or your own. It hands live context to the model and turns the model's decisions into action: inserting an SCTE-35 marker, switching a shot, flagging a quality problem, adjusting a workflow mid-stream.

Reasoning is one part of Norsk's AI story, not the whole of it. The rest is architectural: interfaces and documentation defined by the code itself, disciplined context management, and MCP support across the platform — so AI is useful at design time and build time, not just at runtime.

Write your detection intent the way you would brief a producer: 'flag natural breaks in play for ad insertion,' 'detect when audio drops below threshold,' 'alert when the score graphic is obscured.' A planning model generates a structured analysis specification. For production use, bake the validated spec — locked behaviour, production-safe, no surprises on a live event you cannot rewind.

The spec runs continuously — events land in your workflow

An evaluation model runs your specification frame by frame at a configurable interval. It generates a continuous stream of structured events — content classifications, moment detections, quality assessments — from what it sees and hears. Every event is observable: you know what the AI saw and what it concluded.

The loop closes — without anyone in the room

AI events become first-class workflow triggers. Source switches, SCTE-35 ad markers, overlay changes, packaging adjustments, downstream API calls — triggered automatically, in real time, without human routing. Override is always available. A broadcaster scheduling ad breaks on a fixed interval knows breaks are cutting into active play. CPM rates on interrupted breaks are lower. Viewer drop-off at interruption-point breaks is measurable. The revenue difference between a well-timed break and a badly-timed one is calculable — and the CFO has the data. Operators can't catch natural breaks manually at the speed the live feed requires.

Streaming operator

Retire the rules engine

A streaming operator builds and maintains a rules engine for automated production decisions over three years. It works until the programme format changes — at which point it requires engineering time to patch. The patches accumulate. The maintenance overhead absorbs the engineering capacity the system was supposed to free. The rules engine becomes the problem it was supposed to solve.

Norsk Reasoning replaces the rules engine with a natural language specification that updates without an engineering change.
