A multi-camera production is a lot of moving parts: cameras arriving over different protocols, an operator who needs to see all of them at once, commentary from somewhere else entirely, and an audio mix that has to track the cut. Norsk builds all of it as one workflow — ingest, multiview, switching, mixing, and delivery in the same pipeline — so the production is something you design and version, not something you rack and cable.

Step 01
Bring every camera in, whatever it speaks

Cameras and feeds arrive however they arrive: SDI via DeckLink, NDI and ST 2110 on the network, SRT and RTMP from the field, WHIP from a browser. Norsk ingests them all as inputs on the same canvas, so a hardware camera in the venue and a contributor on a laptop are the same kind of thing by the time they reach the switcher.

See everything at once

The multiview processor builds a monitoring grid of every source, and monitorWall renders a configurable wall of live previews with per-source labels, audio meters, and quality alerts over MoQ, WebRTC, or JPEG. The operator gets the wall in a browser rather than on a dedicated monitor stack — which means the gallery can be anywhere the production needs it to be.

Cut, mix, and commentate

hardSourceSwitch takes the cut instantly without transcoding; smartSourceSwitch covers the source that falls over. audioMixer gives per-source level, gain, and mute control over the mix, mixMinus feeds each contributor everything but themselves, and remoteCommentary brings commentators in over WebRTC with monitoring and talkback — so the commentary box is a browser tab, not a building.

Remote and at-home production

The cameras are at the venue. Everyone else isn't.

Sending a truck and a crew to every fixture doesn't scale, and lower-tier events never justified it in the first place. But the production still needs a vision cut, a proper audio mix, and commentary that sounds like it's in the room.

Cameras contribute over SRT or ST 2110 from the venue; the switching, mixing, and compositing run wherever the workflow is deployed. remoteCommentary and mixMinus put the commentators at home with clean talkback. The production quality travels; the crew doesn't have to.

A live match needs several camera angles, a director cutting between them in real time, graphics over the top, and a replay of the thing that just happened — before the moment has passed.

multiview gives the director every angle at once, hardSourceSwitch takes the cut with no transcode penalty, videoCompose handles the two-box and the graphics, and actionReplay records the sources and replays them on demand. The replay comes from the same workflow that's making the programme.

An all-hands or a conference needs a presenter camera, a slides feed, and a picture that combines them — but there's no budget for a production gallery and no appetite for a week of setup.

The whole show is one Norsk Studio workflow: ingest the cameras and the slide capture, compose the layouts, switch between them from a browser dashboard, and deliver to the CDN. Save it as a template and the next event is a copy, not a rebuild.
